All programs and workshops
offered begin with a diagnostic test and evaluation.
A computer lab is available for enrichment and reinforcement of skills.

workshop has only six to ten participants per session

Evening
workshops that are one and one-half hours in length meet from 5:30 p.m. to
7:00 p.m.

Diagnostic Testing and
Evaluation
Complete testing services
for all subjects and all levels are available.
A comprehensive battery of tests is recommended for reading diagnosis and
evaluation.
Educational
testing for exceptional education, including varying exceptionalities, specific
learning disabilities, gifted, and early childhood is administered by an
“on-staff” state licensed school psychologist.

Individual Tutoring
Instruction
Tutoring
in all subjects and for all age levels is available. Sixty minutes of one-on-one
instruction by certified teacher in requested subject area.
Program
is designed to meet specific needs and learning styles of each student. Teaching methods are matched with the child’s natural
learning style.
Individual
testing is administered prior to instruction. On staff certified special
education teachers available.
Weekly
hours of instruction are arranged to meet individual schedules.
Afternoon and evening hours are available.
The number of instructional hours per week is dependent upon academic
need.
Academic
needs are met for learners in Elementary, Middle and High Schools and also
Junior College levels. Computer lab available for enrichment and
reinforcement of skills.

Learning How to Study and
Reading Strategies Workshop Grades: 3 - 12
Emphasis is on
comprehension, standardized test preparation for the FCAT and SAT and study
skills strategies. All skills
taught are designed to coordinate with the school curriculum and provide
practical application for school use. Students
are taught according to grade level expectations.

Mysteries Solved Grades: 3 - 8
Make sure your child has a
solid foundation in math! An over
all approach to solving math problems using logic and correct computation.
Basic math strategies will be taught.

15 Hours of Small Group Instruction
*Grades 3 through 12

*Course meets Monday through Friday (4:30-6:00 pm)

*Session meets June 18 through June 29
* Computer lab utilized for speed reading techniques

* Cost is $175.00 per session
The Program Will Teach Each Participant To:

* Choose reading mateerial that fostsers motivation to read
* Help students read with a purpose
* Benefit from oral book reading, done in the contest of sharing
* Improve comprehension by removing roadblocks before students read
* Learn specific comprehension skills throuogh reading, main ideas, and details, organizational patterns, predicting outcomes, QAR strategy, cause and effect, inferences and drawing conclusions.
* Explore reading strategies through story-based discussions
* Utilize background experiences (prior knowledge)
* Learn the concept of reading rates through speed reading techniques
* Help students read with critical evaluation
